DESCRIPTION ABOUT University College of Bahrain (UCB) - School of Business

The University College of Bahrain was founded in 2001 by Dr Khalid Bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa, a member of the Royal Family of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

UCB is a not-for-profit institution recognized by the Ministry of Education of the Kingdom of Bahrain as a provider of higher education. UCB is a new and private 'Western-style' university designed to provide an international teaching and learning experience entirely conducted in the English language, particularly specializing in Business Administration, Communication & Multimedia and Information Technology.

UCB provides a rigorous curriculum (based on a semester credit hour system) in the American liberal arts tradition. Many students are drawn from the leading families in the Gulf Region with about 55% female intake and an aggressive and ambitious development program is in place to grow student numbers and facilities over the next 10 years. UCB is located in its own self-contained and walled purpose-built campus in Saar.

UCB Bachelor's programs have initially been developed through collaboration with McMaster University (one of Canada's leading universities and rated in the 2008 Times Higher Education Supplement QS - World University Rankings at number 117) and UCB degrees are recognized for admission to postgraduate study in both North America and the United Kingdom and several of its successful graduates have gone on to further successful study in well-known western universities
