With an immediate increase in the number of enrolling students and a limitation of space, the NUCB Graduate School campus was relocated in 2001 to a new purpose-built campus in Fushimi, in the business centre of Nagoya and on two of the main subway lines. Two satellite campuses were launched in Tokyo (2006) and Osaka (2007) to offer the Weekend MBA programme. Both satellite Campuses in Tokyo and Osaka are located close to the central railway stations of Tokyo and Osaka. Thus, all three Campuses are in ideal locations for attracting students wishing to study business and management.
In June 2016, the programs of the graduate school were relocated to the newly constructed Nagoya Marunouchi Tower Campus while the Nagoya Fushimi Campus was repurposed for undergraduate and Pre MBA courses. The Nagoya Marunouchi Tower Campus is a fourteen storey downtown campus with elegant boardroom style conference rooms, a ‘learning salon’ with a full-service kitchen cafeteria and alumni lounge, library and research center, six floors of auditorium classrooms with the latest technology and information systems, two floors of open layout ‘idea room’ classrooms, and a theater hall on the top floor with seating for three hundred. Likewise, such advanced information systems have also been installed in all the classrooms at the other two campuses.
The facilities provided at all three Campuses are as follows:
Teaching Infrastructure The Nagoya Marunouchi Tower Campus has an abundance of classroom styles for all kinds of lectures, courses, and class sizes. There are eight floors of auditorium classrooms that range in seating capacity between 40 and 160 with a minimum of three blackboard walls per room, automated projection screens with HDMI and Apple AirPlay connectivity, central floor-mounted monitor for lecturers, and podium with an overhead multimedia projector. Each room is layed out with advanced acoustic designs which replaces the need for individual microphones and speakers. Two of the floors hold a total of four “open space” classroom layouts called ‘Idea Rooms’ with ten breakout rooms for small group study of up to eight.
The Tokyo Campus and Osaka Campus each have lecture rooms, which are leased by NUCB and NUCB'S office at Tokyo Campus. The lecture rooms have a capacity of 30-50 and are located in modern office buildings. In addition, both rooms in Tokyo and Osaka have the newest media equipment, including projectors, large screens, printers, wireless network devices, etc.
Computer Facilities and Network The Computer Centre at NUCB (main campus) is responsible for the computer facilities and system support for all three campuses of NGS. Although the administration at the Nagoya Marunouchi Tower Campus provides daily support for the facilities and systems, the computer nerve centre for all the Graduate School IT operations is administered by the staff of the Computer Centre. All the staff and students have access to the information board (intranet), Blackboard Learning System, and all the electric resources that they may require for their research, teaching and studies, through the wired and wireless networks on campus, or via the SSL-VPN from outside campus.
Library Services The Central Information Centre (library) is located on the Nisshin Campus. The University library has been gradually converting to a digital library and now subscribes to a growing number of online databases All the resources at the University library are directly accessible via the library's website; http://www.nucba.ac.jp/cic/
Transportation of Library Books and Journal Document Duplication Service A book retrieval system is available for all students at all three campuses. Upon a student's request, books are delivered from the main campus (Nisshin) to the office of the Graduate School in Nagoya every two days per week, or to the home of the students at the Tokyo and Osaka Campuses. Journal articles and other periodicals (or copies thereof) are also sent. The library catalogue and services are available online.
Use of Online Database and Journal The University subscribes to 15 online journal databases, one alone with access to over 7,000 foreign publications. In addition to this we have an online database, which can search all publications in Japan after the Meiji period, a database with access to over 500 domestic journals, and a journal search facility. These are available at Nagoya Marunouchi Tower Campus and from outside of campus by connecting with the Library homepage.
