The Education System in Croatia

The Croatian higher education system is comprised of two categories: polytechnic schools and universities. All larger universities in Croatia are composed of many independent "faculties." Each independent college or department maintains its own administration; professional staff and campus. The colleges focus on specific areas of learning: Natural Sciences, Philosophy, Law, Engineering, Economy, Architecture, Medicine, and so on. There are also over 30 scientific institutes, the largest being the Institute Ruder Boskovic in Zagreb that excels in physics.
