The Education System in Macau

It is the same system applied within China: in order to participate in a graduate program, one is required to take an exam called the Gaokao. If the score is not high enough, students are denied access to the Benke level (equivalent of Bachelor) and instead take classes at the Zhuanke level (2 or 3 years after A-Level) or attend a private school (most of which are at the Zhuanke level). The State institutions are: University of Macau, Macao Polytechnic Institute, Macau University of Science and Technology, MacauMillenniumCollege and Asia International Open University (Macau).
