Since its foundation in 1992 RISEBA has substantially expanded its premises for the study process implementation. In October 2014 the total space of premises were 8805,67 m2. The study process of RISEBA is located in three buildings in Riga – 3 Meza Street, 1/6 Meza Street and 4 Durbes Street (RISEBA Centre of Architecture and Media H2O 6, a part of Creative Quarters of Riga city) and one building in Daugavpils – 47 Mihoelsa Street (RISEBA branch). The building in 4 Durbes Street is adapted for people with special needs.
RISEBA study rooms and computer rooms are equipped with stationary or portable video projectors, screens, audio and video equipment. The photo studio is equipped with stationary lighting facilities, while the sound recording studio with stationary audio recording and assembling devices, the video studio with stationary and mobile lighting facilities, a camera crane and a video rail, a greenscreen, while video editing studios/architectural computer rooms and video editing working rooms are equipped with 38 iMac computers with FinalCut Pro X, FinalCut Studio 7, Logic Studio and Adobe Creative Suite Production Premium computer programs.
Two RISEBA campuses (in 3 Meza Street and 4 Durbes Street) have canteens, which offer free wi-fi connection. Additionally vending machines (coffee, tea, snacks etc.) are available in all premises for students and staff members. There are several comfortable lounge areas open to students and staff for gathering, studying, and relaxing between classes.
There are two RISEBA Copy Centres located in 3 Meza Street and 4 Durbes Street to serve the needs all students and staff members, where administrative (staff) documents and forms, student handouts and other study materials, student reports and thesis can be printed, copied, scanned and bounded.
The study process at RISEBA is supported with a computer based library and 7 computer labs. In total there are 220 Windows-based computers, 58 Apple computers, of which 173 are intended for studies. The wireless network (WiFi), which provides access to the Internet (100 Mbps), is also available in the institution's premises. RISEBA has eight multifunctional network printers with scanners; two of them are colour printers.
RISEBA Library:
The total area of library premises is 453m2, including the reading hall with 32 seats for readers and computers with Internet access in the computer room. There are two affiliate libraries at RISEBA – one in RISEBA Architecture and Media centre H2O 6 in Riga and another in RISEBA campus in Daugavpils (47 Mihoelsa Street). In 2010, RISEBA joined the Electronic Union Catalogue of Latvian Libraries of National Significance.
RISEBA learning platform
RISEBA faculty uses MOODLE as the e-learning environment primarily for publishing study materials and communicating with students. MOODLE is used by the majority of RISEBA academic staff members, facilitating the use of various study materials required for interactive learning, e.g. presentations, electronic assignments, interactive tests, quizzes, etc. MOODLE resources are widely used by all RISEBA full-time students including students of Distance Learning Programmes.
