Sheffield Business School's learning spaces are designed to facilitate interaction and engagement with learning for students, and include collaborative, social, group and individual spaces. Research-informed design and student feedback has guided planning and development of physical spaces across the campuses.

The Stoddart building offers a number of positive elements that facilitate learning, especially on level 1: The 'Deli' area supports a wide range of informal interactions; the student help and information point (SHIP) is visible and accessible and based on conventional higher education sector space standards, the building is efficient.

Both campuses have a modern, vibrant learning centre bringing together library resources, computers, help and support and media. The learning centres house over 500,000 books, 40,000 video and audio items, and 700 computers and laptops. There is a rapidly growing collection of electronic resources including 30,000 e-books, 48,000 e-journal titles, and over 200 databases provided via an excellent Library Gateway to enable access both on and off campus via the Internet. A web scale discovery system, Library Search, enables searching across a range of content, including the library catalogue, journals articles and databases. The learning centres are open 24 hours in teaching weeks and contain bookable group rooms with presentation facilities and whiteboard, cafes; social learning spaces; and study support and helpdesks.

IT provision and support is provided by Information Systems and Technology who manage the University network, the Managed Desktop, Corporate IT systems, and IT help and support for both students and staff. Both campuses are wifi enabled, with over 3,600 PCs in learning centres, classrooms and catering outlets giving access to industry standard software and over 250 software applications. Mobile access has been provided and a free smartphone app, SHUgo, has been developed to enable access to services. Help and support is provided face to face in the learning centres, also by telephone, email and online chat.
